Default goin through lots of oil

ok so i have to put oil in my car every other week and im wondering why is it so bad..and the oil is all over my back bumper..i no its the piston ring but i no they cant be that bad...it used to go through oil but not this bad it never got all over my bumper like that...most ppl tell me piston rings but some say valve seals or something like that...so wat could it be..also the car feels real sluggish it lacks power...and also is it safe to be driving it like this as long as i keep putting oil in it//thnx ahead of time

If it's actual oil on the rear bumper, then logic demands there is a problem involving your exhaust valves. Give her the ol' compression test and see what happens.

my guess is valve seals... does it every start smoking when the car is first started in the morning (ie cool morning)? and/or does it smoke in high rpm's?

kendall is right though start with a compression test to see if you are loosing compression, then try a leakdown test

did you hold your foot down when you did the test? those aren't bad numbers for a high mile motor. exhaust guides/seals-possible piston rings are the guess. when i tore my motor apart at 160k the exhaust guides were shot & so were the seals.

I would say your oil piston rings are bad. Time for a rebuild..

you have tons of options. figure out your goal with the car before you spend a dollar. if you want to 1/4 mile, figure out what et you want to run and pick parts to get there. if you want to autocross all motor the build will be different. lay it all out before you buy stuff. people who piece togeather combos generally spend more money.
