In that case it would definitely get hot because there is nothing blocking the coolant...........
Running without a Thermostat is not the best idea. I just figure that a blown head gasket would keep pushing compression/air into the coolant system which creates air bubbles and does not allow the thermostat to open.

this is exactly wat i am going thru with my d16z6. i have changed the thermostat already. took the radiator out to pressure test it. the bottom hose remains cold, whereas the top hose is hot. cud this be a water pump? how do i bleed my coolant system. im sure i don't have any air tho. wat else cud be the issue. please help.

Problem was fixed. Changed the head gasket, it was in fact blown, had a small leak around cylinder 4.
