Hey all im tiring to find out what you guys use spec wise for a cold motor assembly
Clearance of the piston to bore. For JE pistons going into a b16a2 engine with darlton sleeves ?? im assuming its has to be a much larger distance than the stock clearances
b/w its stock bore size.. ie 81mm
And does the type of sleeve effect your bore clearance size ? because one would assume ductile cast iron sleeves would expand with hot… like wise with the rings / piston….
Also what clearance do you run your JE rings ? because the standard JE rings have to be filled down to the correct size…or do you follow that yellow bit of paper that comes with the JE rings ?
Kindest Regards
James

i think my mechine shop has fucked up hardcore...
my mehcainc and my self measured the clearance they setup.. to be 13 thow (13 thousandths in measurement.. )... i think thats 0.013 ( in your measurements )
now its time 2 thow away this block i think.. grr im soo pisted off... unless im totaly wrong..
bc you guys recomend 0.0035 - 0.0045 on je pistons.. and stock honda recomends 0.0008
Regard James

Go with what JE says on the piston clearance and the ring clearance. If block is bored too large, you might be able to exchange your pistons for a larger size. That sounds cheaper than scrapping the block. Measure clearance as JE says, about one inch from the bottom.
BTW, the piston clearance is based on the type of aluminum used in the piston, not what the cylinder walls are made of.
