'90 Teg 199xxx Project/Daily Driver
Hey guys,
I'm brand spankin new here, but I've been reading your posts for a while now and most of you seem to have pretty good/helpful ideas. I hope I'm not offending anyone by posting this.
As for the car, No serious mods yet; short shifter, stainless brakelines, yokohama avids. I have a bushing set from Energy Suspension we've been too lazy to install. My roommate is a mechanic so it's hard to get him to help me after work when he's been cranking wrenches all day.
The reason I'm posting is because I'm looking for some advice on all around engine mods (B18A1) focused on the installation of a small turbo. I'm looking to add some power, but nothing extreme. I would ideally like to hit the 200whp mark, but I am well aware that this may not be feasible and that it takes some extra $$$ to even get close. I'm also aware that this engine may not be the best starting point considering the mileage, but so far it has run well, idles well, and compression tests show marginal loss over factory.
I'm just as, if not more, interested in my suspension setup because I like staying on the road. As of now the car rides pretty stiff and hugs pretty well on turns with minimal body roll(but still a bit more than ideal). I'm interested in a road racing style setup rather than purely drag, but of course I would like to beat an occaisional station wagon or school bus. Also this is my daily driver so I'd like to maintain somewhat of my current spinal alignment. I would like to see a little bit of a drop, but it's not the most important thing.
My next addition will most likely be shocks/springs since my current shocks are leaking. I'm leaning toward the Neuspeed Sports, but I don't have anything in mind as far as shocks go other than ideally keeping the price under $500. If anyone has the time to comment or advise it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
