I'm just looking for opinions, but I am wondering what are some personal opinions on whether or not I should buy this 1992 Acura Integra GS-R B17. It has 188,xxx miles and he wants $1850. I will post pictures tonight but the dealer who is selling it is an hour and a half away from me and I don't want to go down there unless I'm going to buy it.

The only weird thing is that it doesn't have a sunroof which MSN Auto lists as standard (http://autos.msn.com/research/vip/Sp...egra&trimid=-1) and it doesn't have the model badge on the back. The guy who owns the dealer said that they get the info by entering the VIN on carsoups website and it comes up as an RS but he said the under the hood sticker says its a 1.7 and it says vtec on the valve cover. I'm confused so any help would be nice. Also I asked him to look at the block to see what motor it is but he doesn't know anything about hondas and he couldn't figure it out.

dont hold yourself to it. its not a question of should you buy it, i think its more does this guy know wtf hes talking about. if youre that curious, drive down there and check it out, an hour and a half isnt that far. id like to know where he sees a 1.7 L sticker.

 

dude its a B17 okay torque and good power plus if its a b17 its a GS-R so its prolly full leather. I say you take the drive and check it out cuz on my end it sounds like a great find for under 2 grand

 

He said he is going to email me pictures of the car and engine so I will post them asap, but first I have to go somewhere till 10 CST. So hopefully they'll be up around 10:30CST

 

I wouldn't rely on a sticker to tell me what motor is in a car. If you can confirm that the engine is a B17 by either looking at the pics or by going to check it out yourself, I say buy it.

 

 

Maybe its just me but I just got these pictures and it looks like a Ls engine

 

I dont see any vtec on the valve cover, looks like a b18a to me and gsr should have leather and a sunroof. Plus you dont see the vtec solenoid. But thats just my opinion, anyone feel free to correct me, im just getting into the game and i have a 92 gs da. Yup so pretty much is a Ls engine, dude is trying to trick you

no dude is trying to bend you over if he's telling you that is a gs-r and that is a B17 it's totally not worth 1850. If he lied about that there is no telling what else he lied about.

 

That doesn't look like a B17 to me. Best way to find out for sure is to ask him for the VIN number then decode it here.

its an LS. a b17 look like every other b series vtec motor.

 

That's a 92 RS, exactly like mine. I still have those hub caps in my garage.

Dang, even the seats are the same blueish material. I paid $1400 for mine...yeaaaaars ago.

 

If I lived closed to that dealership I would go talk to him and if he says its a 1.7 with a vtec motor I would go open the hood and ask where it says 1.7 and where does it say Vtec. I just want to see his face reaction.

 

ya once i saw the pictures i was kinda pissed cause he acted like he doesn't know anything about acuras but he was definetly making stuff up, I just wanted to make sure there wasn't something I didn't know about.

DB2s did not have leather. There seats were different from the other, regular tegs. Red stripes down the middle, etc.

 

yeh the 92-93 didnt come with full leather interior either.

 

sorry bro but thats definetly a B18a1 dont do it cuzhes tryna beat you in the head, that is my exact motor and car down to the color lol- r81 milano red. low miles and strong pull maybe id buy but that guy is full of it

 

i want to reply because in 92 leather was an option, i own a 92 db2 with all leather, in 93 it was standard. If any one has questions about a 92 db2 ask me, thanks
