Default Window jumping off track...

I have a 98 hatch and the drivers window, about half way down gets hard to roll down because it starts to jump out of the track. It can be rolled up an inch or two, then down further, doing that all the way down....really annoying. but the track appears fine...everything appears fine. Should i just try replacing the track..or should i be looking at something totally different? ... shops want a fortune so i'm just going to do it myself. I dint know if this is a common problem or should i just start replacing everything in there?

It's a common problem for EKs. Whenever it happens to me I just put the window back on the track and tighten the bolt back up that holds it in place.

The best way to do it is put some silicone in the window channels where it slides and some locktite on the bolt to prevent it from loosening up. I have used tire dressing before and it works like a charm.

after countless ek's i have somewhat became a pro at this. haha

well buddy what you want to do is buy lithium grease and spray the tracks. u can find lithium grease at wal mart, autozone, kragen. spray a good amount and roll up and down the window.

now if it slides off the track, make sure the 10mm bolt is secured holding the window. if it is...then the problem is the window actuator. its about 50 bucks at honda. its the X BAR as i call it. simple installation. just takes time. good luck. pm if u need help
