dohc zc help.

will a dohc zc head fit on a D16a1 block?>

the DOHC ZC head will bolt onto the A1 block, however, the heads are not the same - the ZC uses a different valve cover and has different bolt hole locations for attaching the timing belt cover - also has 2 less studs for attaching intake manifold, but you could add these studs

thanks. well what i have is a d16a1 in my 91 civic. and i have a zc just sitting in my garage. but it needs the main cap/cradle thing. the zc has everything on the head. would the head just bolt right up or should i just use the cams out ot the zc into the a1? what would be a more power gain?

just use the ZC cams with the A1 head - the ZC and A1 have the same combustion chambers, ports and valvetrain, so you wouldn't gain anything by swapping the entire head - use the ZC intake manifold

then how does the zc have way more power? it it because different compression?
