Default JDM H22A with LSD "Leaky Halfshaft" what do I do now?

Hey guys,

So I have a 93 lude H22A engine inside my EG with Hasport mounts and Hasport Axels and Apprently to my amazement It has been leaking transmission "5w-30 upgraded to SAE 30Weight" and it still leaks around the half shaft looking in the guide.. in the uber 1300 page honda manual I obtained, it looks like I need to take off the transmission and clutch housing and replace some probably less then 10 doller rubber gasket of sorts...

I guess like what I'm asking is, anyone had this problem and know what I exactly need to change as im kinda clueless, doing the work myself is all part of the big picture.

2nd question, is it worth it to replace the clutch on a 35k engine with something like a exeddy/act and also fidanza/act flywheel? can anyone recommend anything thats worth it..

the engine is stock and might possibly have a larger throttle body, set of cams sometime in the future...

Thanks.

Not sure about the seal but I would keep the stock clutch. They arent bad at all unless you pushing alot of hp. I replaced mine while I was getting my new H22A put in and the clutch that came out of it was still new looking.

Bump, maybe some more thoughts? how hard is it to replace? 6 hours or so? anyone think this can be done without taking the transmission off? maybe something like a stupid rubber gasket .. I know the transmission was leaking like a siv on the halfshaft side, and squirted all the fluid down underneath the car down to where the shifter area is..

I guess ivebeen driving it without fluid for probably 80 miles, there was fluid in there then non, it wasn't completely dry, is there any tell tail signs that it is having issues?

Thanks.

IdK about having to pull the whole tranny. you should only have to pull the half shaft itself to replace the O ring.

I did the O ring on the other side of the tranny and I only had to pull the axel, pop out old O ring pop in the new and reinstall axel.

I wouldnt imagine the other side is any diffrent.

If you do pull the tranny look at the clutch itself and replace if needed. If you have the money do a lightened flywheel. The stock one is is mega heavy.

You should have extra parts like clutches lying around.

Could just be an axel seal.

no need to pull the tranny, its most likely just that seal.

Don't damage the old seal during the removal process. You can use this old seal (put it on top of the old one) to drive the new one in place.
