Default 1989 Honda Civic DX 4Dr AC/Trans Issue Help!

Hi everyone this is my first time here. I just bought this car and I have a few things with it. It has 219,000 miles on it and the engine is still strong. When I turn the AC on the blower works, the heater works, no cold air, when i push the AC button in the blue light does not come on. When I push it in and out I notice a difference in the idle. I do not see any tags that would suggest the R134a turnover. I also do not hear the clutch kick in. Is there a strong possibility that it is just low on R12 and the low pressure switch is doing its job? I did check all the fuses under the dash and they are all good. however I did check the ones under the hood to the top left hand side of the engine compartment and the AC Evap which is 25amp was blown. I replaced it and still no cold air. The second issue is that the trans which is auto shifts a little hard at times depending how much gas I give it.

Any info to help out is greatly appreciated! I live in Florida and I need ac bad. Thanks peeps, have a great day!
