Default ITR Cluster Temp. Gauge Gets Really Hot Sitting in Traffic

So I have experienced this a few times, just wanted to see if anyone else has and maybe wgat they did to fix it. So I would be sitting in typical LA traffic and I would look down and my temp. gauge would be almost pinned in the red, it was hot but not over-heating hot. But when I would be able to move for a little bit all of a sudden the temp. gauge would go down to where it normally sits. My friend also had this problem over the weekend in his Civic with a CTR cluster. Has anyone experienced this and amybe knows how to fix it??? Thanks in advance.

Never had a problem. Maybe your temp sensor is bad.

I figured if my thermostat was off it would be all the time not just when I'm in traffic...??? I'm really confused. No one has experienced this???

If it is moving, I would suspect a real temperature issue. Is the cooling fan running when it is showing hot?

Yup the fan goes on exactly when it should that's what I thought, well actually I thought the fuse was blown for the fan, I was wrong.
