right now i have just removed the orange in the headlights, but i've been pondering which way to go as far as painting them. i've never really seen gunmetal or black in person so i'm not sure which looks better. its actually a really hard decision because i think both colors will look good. i just want to see what you guys have to say
heres a pic of my car for reference, i kind of have a black and white theme goin on w/ it, but i also have gunmetal wheels so lemme know hwat you thinik
edit: if somone wants to photoshop what both would look like .. that would be awesome, i would do it but i dont have photoshop installed on this comp

Keep it stock I had some blacked out light's on my car and they don't look as good as the oem lights all clear. But I don't see a black and white theme?
Or Buy SIR headlamps
This is what my car kinda look's like yours
But this is what aftermarket one look like after a few months

black tint, black sideskirts, black lip = black and white theme
i'm not spending money on new headlights .. those sirs look identical to mine now anyway.
i think i'm gunna go a darker gunmetal, i like the regular housing but it doesnt do anything for the car, i think gunmetal lights would make it pop a little better

well i'd actually like to see some gunmetal lights, theres a really nice gunmetal wheel paint at autozone that i think would look really good. i just think different colored lights would spruce up my front end, i think w/ the white paint the plain clear lights are making it bland looking

Hey, I think I know what it is about the headlights that bugs you, it's the chrome, right? I hate it too
Have you ever DIY blackhousing before?? I was going to a long, long time ago, but decided against it because I wasn't very confident in the results I was going to get. The entire process just sounded like a PITA, with the sanding, painting, re-sealing, oven baking, chances of moisture / condensation, fading/ weathering over time... just not worth it in the end. Unless, of course, you've done it before and it worked out for you??? In any case, I'm sure this gunmetal color would look a lot better than black as black tends to look cheap, IMHO. Have you looked into the films such as Lamin-x???

yea i'm not to sure how it would come out .. i think i'll be able to make it look good, i'm pretty good at spraying and stuff. i'm not gunna put anyting over the front of the lights, i'd like to do gunmetal and see how that comes out, i might try and get a spare pair and do it to them

they look good, are you happy with how they came out?</TD></TR></TABLE>
I sanded all the chrome off then primed and painted. They have been like that for 3 years now and still look the way they did the first day I sprayed them. I am very satisfied with them! Screw paying 300+ for JDM ones! I dont care how good they look IMO....

No they dont look like my Sir Headlamps because you can still see where the reflector was unlike the Jdm version that never had them but it's up to you. Buy another set and do it to them let us how they come out with the gunmetal color. I also found my headlamp's for only a Hundred bucks.

In the beggining thats what I did to my stock headlamps, I used the gun metal paint from kragen. They came out good though it was my first DIY ever. Then I decided to go big and got my CTR's and I love them
If you paint yours, apply a clear coat at the end the results will be better than mine
