Does anyone know if there is a difference between the 88-91 crx hood release cable unit(level and cable) and a 92-95 civic hood release cable unit?

I purchased one off ebay which was noted as 88-91 crx, but when i received the item, i was sent the 92-95 one. OEM Part #s differ between the two models, that is for sure. I'm wondering whether Honda just used different part #s for the exact same piece. Price at the dealership differ as well.

When i went to compare it under my car, the lever looks exactly the same, im not sure about length of cable, since i haven't removed it from the car yet.

Anyone one the answer to this? I'd hate to open it and void my refund guarantee if its not the right one.

if part numbers are different that means there different. probably just a different lenght cable.

 

If you route it a little differently it will probably be fine... as long as it's not shorter...

 

anyone else run into this situation? hoping someone has compared the two before.

 

nevermind, i got an answer back from someone who bought it from the same guy. Turns out its the same one, fyi get the 92-95 ones, its 10 bucks cheaper.

 

update guys, the fact is these cables are different. crx one is longer by about an inch. just found out the hard way, dont make the same mistake as I.
