Hey guys, i was wondering if you guys can help me with this problem. For some reason I cant shift into reverse. No matter what I do, I cant seem to put it into reverse. I bleed my clutch, try to force it in reverse, and try to put it in when the car is off but nothing works. Every other gear works fine except reverse. I asked some of my friends about it and one knows what it is. Anyone have any idea or had this problem before?

 

some simple things to try to get into reverse (has worked for me in the past).....first, while holding clutch in, shift into second, then first, then reverse, without letting off the clutch....attempt 5 times....if no success, hold clutch in and try to put it in reverse, only giving it a small amount of pressure, then slowly let off the clutch until it pops in....if these don't work for you, you have a clutch/tranny problem....might need new tranny fluid, synchros could be bad, clutch could have issues, tranny could have issues.

 

one problem might be that the shift lock that prevents you from going to 5th to reverse could be broken and be engaged all the time, another could be your fluid is to low and, how many miles are one the transmission ?

I had a couple of friends look at it and none of them knew what it could be. One said that the little white ball under the shifter was broken and that was what was causing the problem. Think that could be it?
