LS 6000 rpm readline ??
as title says idk why my ls(b18b1) is redlining at 6000-6500 rpms?? ... And after around 4500-5000 rpms the difference from alil more then half throttle and full throttle is nothing but the noise that comes from my engine, the rpms do climb wish i could say the same for the mph(feels like its tryin so hard to pull a house out of the ground) but when i get to 6k-6.5k rpms its like it cuts off ....did a compression check and everything seams to be ok, gona do another one in the morning to double check and make sure ... what could be the prob ? or what can i do to diagnose this problem?
wah ?! thought it was 6800 or somethin closer to 7k .. but what about the part where i feel no power from 4.5-5k - 6.5k from half throttle to WOT ?? just hear the noise commin from the engine ...?
*edit* my rev-limiter is at 6-6.5k (cannot go passed)...read the rev-limiter on ls is 7-7.2k on the stock tach... also i feel as if it is a fuel cut off not the rev-limiter and ls doesn't have a fuel cut off from what i've read, can anyone confirm this? my old ls b18a hauled **** and took it to 7200 and this one is sluggish compared to it ... any input appreciated

your timing could be off. mine was and i couldnt go over 5000rpm. now its fine that i fixed it. make sure you didnt jump a tooth or 2. and ls redline is 6,800 for the b18b1
Yeah, My Integra redlines at 6800. The fuel cut off on mine is at 7000. It feels like fuel cut off. I don't let it bounce or anything but the last time I was at the track went a little to high in second gear and the car dropped in the front.

What ecu are you running and do you have any cels? I swapped out my gsr for an ls after blowing 2 cylinders apart. I ran my chipped p72 ecu and it ran but was in a "safe" mode.
I dunno my ls is about 7k-7.2k redline and my friend had that same problem with his civic and i dont remeber how we fixed it but we did ill get back to you (i think he jumped time though)

Very true, Honda Tach's are never perfect.

yep, but the only thing that bothers me is the guy i took it too took out some crappy timing light ...he banged it a couple times to get it to work =/ ...
also gon see where i can get the timing cheaked somewhere else.. on another note my car didn't want to start untill i give it some gas while tryin to start it recently started acting up... didn't notice if it primed or not =/ ...
tomorrow i gon get the fuel pressure cheaked... just don't have time to cheak everything all at once like i would lik .....

rockin 260 original and still strong and the ceiling for a 94 ls 7200rpms you should pull your cap and rotor off look inside and make sure it is not rounded in the but it does sound like it is out of time cause mine was doing the same thing for awhile
the shaft that the rotor gets put on has a flat spot on it the rotor if you look in the whole that the shaft goes in there should be a corresponding flat spot to line up if that is rounded from wear and tear then it will throw off your ignition timing if that is fine the it will more then likely be your timing belt

.... Could it be that my fuel pump is going out ?
Would it also cause my rpm's not to go passed 6000?
