My Plan
First off i would just like to ask when i can post more that 5 posts per 24 hours? Thanks
Ok heres my plan. I am looking for a Type R and im pretty sure i got one locked up. Now here is what im wondering. Should i just stick with bolt-on mods for a little while then mess with the internals next summer.
I was planning on getting my R then this year just getting some basic mods on it. k
Later, i was thinking about rebuilding the internals. And dare i say it...boost it.( dark side )
Heres my problem. I dont know where to start. And when i do decide to rebuild the internals...where should i start. Is there some type of kit or do i go part for part.
Im somewhat new to this so any help will make me happy
thanks

1. People in this forum tend to get cranky when asked "What should I do to my Type R?" when the asker either (a) hasn't bought the Type R yet or (b) bought it and has no idea what type of car they actually just bought.
2. Crankiness also happens when: (a) people use "text message words" like "o", (b) overuse of ellipses/punctuation, and (c) improper use of punctuation -- such as a question mark on the end of an interrogative sentence.
3. It is/might be your car, so do some build thread searches, read up, THEN ask questions about parts and methods that have piqued your interest.

Or buy one that has already gone to the dark side... they seem to sell for less.

Best money is spent in HPDEs or Autocross. The car is track ready from the shoot so once you learn to drive and handle that, then begin your search to make it even better. However when looking to make it better, plan on spending a pretty penny. Parts better than factory ITR parts arent exactly like picking up a ebay exaust for a Civic EX and grabbing 20hp from it. Its more like spending 1200 dollars on a header that will give you a just a little more of a kick in the pants.
Welcome (in advance) to the ITR world.

What are you goals? I'l clarify, what do you want to do with the car? You mention building it....and then boosting it. These seperate builds may not be necessary, or if done without proper planning may hurt one another.
Think about what you want to do: track, drag, autox, or just spirited driving (this does not include streeting racing.)
You may discover that the ITR is an overpriced integra for your goals: drag racing, spirited driving, etc
Or, you may fully understand its capabilities on track, auto-x, etc and really confirm that this is the car you want. At the end of the day it is your car and your money. There is a wealth of information on this site, itrca.com, and team-integra.net (Great articles, write-ups, etc) to help you along the way. The search button is truly the best feature on these sites.
I'm close, and work in/around Brentwood very often. If you want to grab dinner/drink sometime feel free to shoot me a PM. I try to keep a local community of owners around here.

You are contradicting yourself, and will end up spending way more $$$ than needed.
If your contemplating boost... I wouldn't even start an NA build.
Get the car first, figure out your budget next, figure out your goals third, read up a BUNCH forth, SEARCH for your question next and lastly, then ask the quesion you might have.

I dont think he mentioned an NA build. I believe he just wanted to REbuild the motor before boost which would most likely be a very good idea depending on the condition of the motor. I would love to boost mine, however would never do so in its current condition (138000 miles on originals). New gaskets, seals, rings, etc would be a must.
imo i would just learn to like and love the car the way it is.
just learn how to drive it first , then do what you want after.
you will value the car more
