I have a jdm 98 h22a thats internal coil. I believe that all 97+ usdm preludes are external coil. Is there another car that I can use that is interchangeable or do I need to covert to an external coil using the 97+ usdm coil? Thanks

 

U can convert the JDM to work externally or You convert your to internal, which even way U like, U can do it.

I think U might want to make it a external, U can just switch out the distributor.

I dont want to switch out my distributor. Im done with cars..haha I want to either keep the internal coil (not sure what model I would buy or if there are any that are interchangeable) or go to an external coil using the USDM prelude coil. Can I just buy the USDM coil and take the + and - wires from the internal coil and go to the external coil then use the USDM cap which is external?

 

I used a coil from a 2000 civic si in my 94 jdm distributor, it might work for yours too. Just take out your old coil and compare it with a new one.

 

or you could buy a used direct replacement type s distributor
