just like springs.. you might not be able to use the stock dust covers over the shocks... they install just like springs if that is what you are asking

I didn't use the dust covers, but I probably should have used them and cut them, cause I think my shocks are bad already. I've had my ground controls and toikico blues since about april.

I run the GC on my 90 CRX Si. And i made the mistake of NOT using bumpstops on them simply from not knowing better. I learned the HARD way. My shocks gave in a few weeks. All you need to do is cut the stock bump stops in half or if you are getting aftermarket shocks, they all come with urethane bump stops. Either way, just make sure you install them. Installing GC's or any coilovers is basically the same as installing springs except you install a ring around them to adjust the height. Good luck. I know i spent a lot of hours experimenting and learning on experience on my own.

I got one for you. Use grease or WD-40 on the rubber sleeve that wraps around the strut body. Makes installation a snap.

Look at the upper right conrner... The yellow rubber thingy is the bump stop, they prevent the shock from bottoming out..

I run them and cut the bumpstops in half. I also run the dust cover cut to GC's specs. GC's tell you to cut the cover down to 1" total length, which seems pointless to even keep it in there since its so small after cutting.

I have alot of friends who run them and they all love them. they are just like stock ride but a little bumpy. I have taken rides in alot of cars with them and if I did not race my car then I would go with them.

Yes, you have to cut them when installing springs also. Like someone said, it gives you more shock travel.
