Default What paint and what application to fill in tiny paint chips?

Hi there guys,
I have an 04 Civic. I've been starting to get paint chips and small little flakes about the size of a dime or smaller where the black flaked off and I can see the grey primer underneath it. Since it's such a small thing, I wanted to know what paint I should use for it? and how I should apply it? There actually at least 7-8 of these chips.

My friend told me the nail polish route, but I'm not sure how well it'll hold up. Spray paint's cover area might be too big and I don't want to cover too much of an area as that might show splotches when light hits it.

Let me know your thoughts and such, and what would you guys do? Aside from taking it to a shop to have it done- as I'm trying to keep the costs as low as possible.

If you have chips the size of a dime that's bad. I can't believe factory paint would do that. For smaller chips that size of a pencil eraser or smaller, I sand the surrounding area with 800 grit, fill in the scratch with appropriate tool (toothpick, razored match stick, etc), allow for dry time, sand smooth with 1000, go over the whole area with 1500, then buff. If it's a metallic, you'll see it. For most solids this is an easy fix and it doesn't look like finger paint.
