Another succesful track day @ Turagua, Venezuela (56k no way)
Today me and Blind went to the track once again, always eager to continue our development as riders.
We arrived early as usual, only the pros that compete in the national championship were there. We start our first session and then the pros come out to ride with us. It was great, one of them pointed to Blindstuff and told him to follow, and he showed us both the line around the track, and later on would give us many tips and insights. Great ambient and great fellas all around, very helpful and friendly.
Sadly, just as we were following the pro around the track, on the 3rd or 4th lap it began to rain so we cancelled our runs and went for shelter at the pits. After a while, it stopped raining and we waited for the track to dry (Which was quickly done by the shearing hot sun of Central Venezuela).
Then we went out for some more sessions, always feeling the improvements. Then a group of riders from a local forum arrived, most of them in liters. It was a great feeling when both me and Stef showed most of those squids how to ride in the track. They always brag about achieving high speeds on the freeway and such, but strangely enough most of them were scared in the track! Some of the dudes didn't even get full on the gas on the straights.
I had a fun time pursuing a 98 CBR900, I could've passed the guy but I didn't want to, because I didn't knew how he could react and make both of us crash. Instead, I just followed him, in the straights he left me in the dust, but in the turns I was on him all the time, I even made him make some mistakes in various turns...missing the braking, running wide, etc.
Generally I don't like to take my ego in rides with me, but what better place than the track to unleash just a little of it? Both me and Stef had a little grudge with most of those guys, because they like to bash us that ride mid-displacement nakeds
The look on the guys faces when we returned to the pits was PRICELESS!!! LOL they didn't even wanted to look at us.
And now...on with the pics. I'll upload some vids later on
Here are our bikes...
Then a couple more appeared...including a brand new (Under 200 miles) Duca 1098 from a guy that we met, he was a great fella
Oh, but then we got a special guest on the track LOL
Baulin!
Here's some shots I took of the pros...
Here's Stef (Blindstuff):
And here's me, had the entire track all to myself on that session!! (Thanks to Blindstuff for the pics
)
That's it for now! I'll keep updating the post with more pics from the other photographers when I get them. Also upload the vids! Thanks for watching

Life could always be better.
My bike could be faster.
I could use a GF or various [freak]buddies.
I could be earning more money and baulin (And accomplish the previous 2 points LOL)
I could be already graduated from college
But meanwhile, riding on the track makes everything else pale in comparison

looks great! What do you guys do about the wildlife on track?
Also, when Schu and I ride our Beemers from LA to Caracas, can we crash at your place?

Kiss the mirror man, kiss the mirror!
I still think we should all have a meet in Brazil. Hmm, whats a good, yet accessible track to ride in Brazil?

LOL actually the guy in the yellow bike stopped and tried to scare the cow. But after that, there were no more animal incursions on the track.
And of course you guys can crash at my place...but then I'm joining you guys on your trip to Ushuaia

LOL I tried to, but felt more comfortable with that stance, specially when hanging off. I kiss the mirror when I don't
There are tons of tracks in Brazil, but Interlagos ownz all.
Too bad they butchered up Jacarepagua in Rio de Janeiro, they used to race MotoGP there

I have to admit that I had to Google "Ushuaia" and HOLY CRAP! South America Meet 2009!
I wonder how much it would cost to ship our bikes there and ride south?

As a matter of fact, a girl I know is now there on Ushuaia...she went with her BF and another couple in 4 Honda Tornados 250 (Dualsport bike) all the way from Caracas to Ushuaia...crossing Brazil, Uruguay and Argentina.
Now they're returning crossing Chile, Peru, Ecuador and Colombia. Great adventure
Ask the guys in ADVrider, they do that trip all the time. It's a common sight to see a fully decked Katoom Adventure or Bimmer GS being ridden by a gringo in the south

Here's a couple more pics of Blindstuff and me. That turn was very dirty on the beginning of the day, and even though they cleaned it up a little with brooms, my confidence was not much during it, I was trying to ride the line but still felt it very loose, and also seeing brown spots all over the turn didn't help.
This was the CBR900 that I was pestering

Yes, they have all kind of trackdays, schools and such. Some friends have attended. But it's not as cheap as in Venezuela.
Of course, it's a LOT more organized like in those in the US.

Actually, the biggest concentration of japanese outside Japan, is located in Brazil.
In fact, the brazilian national baseball team all players are japanese-brazilians LOL. I didn't even know Brazil had a baseball team, that's a sport nobody knows there. Except for the JDM people.
