clutch cable?

clutch cable?

last night i was driving and when i went to push in the clutch i heard a bit of a snap, and there was no more clutch.
i havent been able to go out and look yet, but do you think the cable just snapped?

thats what it sounds like to me....does the petal come back up when you push it down?
