heyyyy, i bet this is a problem huh? can anyone find the problem in this pic?



that is a view of underneath the little box where the linkage connects to the tranny. as you can see, the little "groove" that usually has a **** in it that moves it back and forth to select the gears is quite worn! this would explain me losing 1st, 3rd, and 5th gear. every time the **** goes to push up, there is nothing there since its worn off! so hopefully ill replace this part so its driveable for now then get the reverse fixed sometime later. i think its just the reverse fork that needs replaced so that shouldnt be too bad.

 

If your reverse is blown, its the 5th gear selector ring thats bad.. Trust me, I know... Tranny's are fun to work on..

 

yea that might be why i lost reverse BUT this is why i lost 1st, 3rd, and 5th while doing some runs with another lude the other night

 

Hey 4bidden I'm having the same problem from the track. I always had to double clutch into 5th to get rid of the grind....

But after beating on the tranny a bit at the track my reverse was hard to get into. Corey you say it's the 5th gear selector ring, but how does that affect reverse, especially when it only happens after running hard through 1-2-3-4 at the track?

 

well yea, reverse originally went out after a hard 2-3 shift at the track. but then the other night my 1st, 3rd, and 5th went out on me. this looks like its the problem with the 1st, 3rd, and 5th though, reverse can wait, im broke right now!
