Default crx auto to manual clutch question

ok so weve completed the swap, get in the car try every gear with it off and they all go in easily, no we start the car and cant get it into any gear, and reverse will just grind, first off im wandering if the problem is that we just ran the cable thru the firewall were the wire bundle comes thru, so maybe its pulling not only the cable but the cable housing too witch isn't allowing it to work properly. also we may not have the cable adjusted properly and the clutch arm on the tranny. do we need to drill a hole in the fire wall so that the housing will be in a fixed position and will allow for only the cable to be pulled? also the arm on the tranny has no resistance and i can pull it up easily, and when i did pull it up with the car started it went into reverse. please help, i tried to explain my problem as good as i could. no pedal resistance, clutch arm resistance and when the car is started it wouldn't go into gear. thanx in advance.

i think your first major problem is putting the cable through where the harness is. most cars allready have the hole even though its an auto but my crx didnt and i had to just drill a hole. do that first. then the tranny arm does have alot of free play what you do is put the cable on the pull up on the cable so its tight then tighten that adjuster nut on the cable to get all that free play out of the arm.

What year CRX? My 91 DX had the hole already there for the clutch cable and as stated above that would be the problem you're getting too much play in the cable.
