My buddy gave me his type r harness from his car. I went to put it on my motor today so i can throw the motor in my gsr. and with no prevail, i ran into a problem.
None of the plugs would line up/reach anything.
Is the type r harness incompatible with the gsr?
or is this a human error and it should work fine?
I also tried a ls harness just so i can get the motor in, i have been without a car for the last 2 months. I ran into the same problem though.

are we talking jdm vs usdm harness here? those are different. as far as i knew the gsr and type r of similar years were mostly compatible. i know a p73 ecu from a 1998 car will drop right in a 1998 gsr.
ok well i had the same problem....i have a gsr wiring harness but my VPS and my solinoid wire didnt reach...i had to exend my wire harness a little bit for some reason but it works fine now...i can honestly say that i never had a problem with both of my b16s but for some reason i had to exend my gsr harness

--- USDM. I don't mean that the plugs on the harness won't work. It's just that they don't reach to where they need to.

--- So, i would be able to use the Type R harness, but just splice in some extra wire? Instead of ruining that harness, i think i would rather use the LS harness i have and run the vtec and misc. wires i need.
