Default New import DC5 - loosing power through the band erratically - help!

Hi everyone!

Just picked up a JDM DC5 two weeks ago and have noticed this happening sometimes.
Basically, for no apparent reason it will appear to drive fine in the lower rev bands but as soon as I try to accelerate the car will have none of it. I don't even think the vtec is kicking in I try to encourage it ... getting it upto that point is stressed.

The car just appears very lethargic, has no energy or will to accelerate.
I've checked the oil which is fine, I've also had a look around the intake and can spot nothing obstructing it.

Any ideas?

A compression what? I forgot to mention I'm fairly disabled when it comes to mechanics!

Check an iridium plug gap??? And since k20s use coil packs, the wires are not going to dry rot.

Check the plugs, let us know what they look like (check for oil, carbon foul, etc).

You say you picked up a JDM DC5?

Was the car imported?

If so, check the gas. It could have been sitting for a while and anything but fresh gas will make the cars run horrible.

I would do as the others say, check the plugs, compression ect ect

But drain the gas tank and fill it with fresh 93.

If possible, take a picture of all 4 tips of the plugs and post them. A general assessment can be made from that...
