a cheap yet very good setup is Koni yellow with custom ground control springs. That setup has been used numerous amounts of times in different cars, and it always performs.

If you wanna get a little more into adjustability, then i would look into a complete coilover system. Depending on what you want to do, there are various, ranging from your basic stuff to the expensive stuff...

its all about what you will be using it for...
Dont go cheap, is what i always say, you will regret it later on.

Remember that your shocks and tires are the only things keeping your chassis from hitting the ground...please dont go cheap.

Quality height adjustable full coilover systems can be had for very reasonable prices nowadays, and from companies with great reputations for good quality control and good customer service. That said, I'd rather see someone spend $600-$800 on a setup that will deliver reliable performance from a company that supports our hobby than someone spend $500 on an untested part from a company that's only here to make a buck.
