b18a intake manifold help
okay i know all b series stuff is like itnerchangable but i remember reading something about the intake manifold
b18a intake manifold will it work on a b18c gsr
i remember reading that like the itr doesn't accept the intake stuff but what about the gsr?
and would they be able to run the same aem intake off a b18a

why in gods name would you want to put a restrictive intake manifold such as the b18a on a gsr anyway...? ::confused::
The gsr is fitted with secondary runners aka butterflies. that is the reason why many people upgrade to a skunk2 ITR style manifold, which eliminates those second runners. With that, you would need a different computer, in order to run a program for a single runner manifold as opposed to the stock gsr one. Something like a p28 or a p73 would better suit that setup, but i have seen people with skunk2 itr manifolds running a p72, so its all up to you.
The way the intake is shaped for both setups is a tad different...however, just a couple of washers on the mounting point and youre golden. I originally bought an AEM v2 for an LS and they sent me a GSR one instead, so i just added some rubber bushings where you mount it, and it was fine. Now that i have a GSR, i just took out the bushings and it mounts perfect...its just a inch of different in height, so it can be easily fixed.

okay cool, cause i was gonna buy a new intake manifold not sure which one yet and then in a year or so buy a b18c and get cam and cam gears and such for it and then when my b18a dies swap it just wanted to make sure i could use all the parents i currently have on my ls motor
^^^not a good idea.
ill tell you why.
you will end up spending more money in the long run. the only thing that would be able to swap onto the new motor, would be the cam gears...
if you decide to get a vtec motor, the cams will not fit.
save up, get the swap, and then work on it from there...no need to spend money on the ls motor when youre planning on swapping it out anyway.
There are a lot of semi built motors being sold here on HT and ebay. You can pick one up and not have to worry about building anything besides doing your typical maintenance on it...
good luck

oh i was talking about getting the engine and getting cam gears and cam for the b18c, but i mean i was talking about the exhaust and intake manifold and headers those are compatible right? cause i already have exhaust and headers
want to get an intake manifold for a b18c but i wanna know if it'll work with my b18a

all 94-01 integra exhaust are interchangleable except the 94-99 gsr. The b pipes on the 94-99 gsr exhaust are approximately 4.5 inches longer than all the others to compensate for the smaller exhaust manifold and catalytic converter.
As for the header, it all really depends on what you have. I know that usually all exhaust ports on the b series motors are the same. The intake ports are different however. The GSR and Type R intake ports are different. THe LS is also different i believe.
Youre better off waiting to buy the intake manifold when you get the b18c because they will not be compatible with the ls motor.
Another way to find out, is to find out what intake manifold you want, (ie Skunk2, Edelbrock, AEBS etc) and look at the part numbers for each application, see if they match and that will let you know if they can be put on different cylinder heads.
o...and by the way. just to correct your post...
b series motors have cams and only one header.
