How to paint used lip?
Hey guys, I was able to get a used ITR lip for my integra the other day, the only problem is that it is already painted white, poorly, on top of red.
Since I am a detailer I believe in doing things right the first time. Instead of taking the lip to a paint shop I figured that I know enough about sanding etc to get by with doing this myself.
If I eff it up, I can always take just the one piece to the painters.
I am on PaintScratch.com and I have found the spray for my color, but there I run into a problem.
Since the lip is polyurethane I am pretty sure I am going to need an adhesion promoter or something to prevent the paint from cracking when I scrape the lip going over a driveway or something, (my car is slammed). But don't know which one will suffice. Any suggestions?
I figure I can sand the whole lip down with 600 grit, then hit it with primer, sand that out nicely and then go with color and then clear.
any tips or questions that I should be asking before I make my order?
Thanks
