When I turn on my ac my idle goes from 700 to 0, the needle just falls straight down... but the engine doesn't shut off it is still running.

It doesn't do it all the time when I turn on the ac, just every now and then.

Anyone ever run into this issue?

Does it mean my ac coolant is low?

Any help would be appreciated.

 

when i turn my ac on it goes from like 800 to 300 to 800 to 300 at idle then eventually dies. but if i'm driving around it goes from cold to warm to cold at a slower pace around 2 minutes each.
