Ok, I should really know this kind of stuff, but someone please explain the differences to me and why one is better than the other.

I have a hydro LSD tranny.

LSD is a differential that transfers power to the wheel that has traction.

I think what you mean is the difference between hydro and cable trannies.

A hydro tranny is a transmission with a hydrolically engaged/disengaged clutch. A cable tranny uses a cable to engage/disengage it's clutch.

You seem a little confused...

A "hydro" transmission is one that uses hydraulics for the clutch to (dis)/engage- these being a clutch master cylinder, clutch slave cylinder, brake fluid and lines to disengage the clutch. 92+ Civics are all hydraulic clutch transmissions.

LSD= Limited Slip Differential. This is the differential inside the transmission. In few words, it allows both drive wheel to put power to the ground, while allowing different rotational speeds for corners and such(as opposed to a Spool/welded diff, where both wheels spin the same speed ALWAYS- not good on a FF car, unless full drag).

Do some research and use the "search" key.

General consensus refers to hydro trannies as quicker to respond, and thus the "better" transmission. Anyone please feel free to chime in with some better information. </TD></TR></TABLE>

my bad, i was copying and pasting, must have grabbed the wrong words.

Thanks for the info, that's what I mean, hydro vs cable.
