Tonight when I was driving my car suddenly felt like it was bogging for power. Then all of a sudden my car shuts off on me on the freeway. I end up popping the clutch and got it back up running then after a few times doing that it took a crap on me and completely died on me. Could this be the caused of a bad alternator? Car cranks btw

 

Does your battery light ever come on? I suppose you could disconnect your battery while idling to see if the car continues to run, but I'm sure this isn't the best way to test the alternator.

 

Start by taking the alternator out and getting it tested, Autozone or Advance will test it for free. Let us know how the test went and then we can go from there to fix the problem.
