Default injector harness, resistor box, fuel injectors, cylinder 2 and 3 dead....

Alright,

I've almost exhusted my resources and my sanity trying to figure this **** out, so lets start from the beginning...

I bought a 90 hf shell (which I inturn figured out was an si), no motor, no tranny, hacked up wiring harness....

I swapped my 93 B18a1 into it from the crx it was in before which was an 89 si which never had any electrical problems nor a cel since I did the swap 4-5 years ago....

I am using the rywire distributor and ecu obd0 to obd1 conversion harness, I am running obd0 injectors with the stock 89 si resistor box and a obd1 manual pr4 as well as a 4 wire oxygen sensor I hooked into the sub harness of the rywire ecu harness...

Now for the problems....

I am currently using the 89 dash and engine bay harness from the 89 si with the rear harness from the 90 si, everything works as far as I can tell so far, the wire colors appear to match up and the driver side door connection to the rear harness from the dash / cabin harness...

I fired the car up with the 90 si harness open header (didn't have exhust bolts, I've done this before due to d series and b series flanges being cocked slightly different from each other and had no problem other than the usual loss of power on the motor due to the no back pressure of running a stock motor open header...), I lost cylinder 3, and then I lost spark.....

Fast forward to me dropping both dashes out of both cars and pulling the harnesses out of both crx' and swapping the cabin side harness into the 90 si ( it had the 89 si harness still on the motor when I attemped the intial start(I.e. injecter harness/ main plug to cabin / ecu harness / wiper motors etc...)...

The car would not start at all but cranked very strong, 7 hours later I determined the something from the hacked harness fryed the distributor, so I took a brand new obd1 LS dizzy and threw it on there and the car fired up instantly, spark problem resolved, but now I've lost cylinder 2 and 3, I have tested the injector harness, the resistor harness, the fuel injectors themselves (I swapped out 2 and 3 and they are clicking, unsure of pulse..), I've got good spark all the way around from harness to the distributor, to the coil, to the igniter, all the way back down to the spark plugs, and yet cylinder 2 and 3 are not doing ****....

Now at this point, I am assuming the distributor and maybe the injector resistor box were damaged by the faulty original wiring harness, I've swapped plug wires also, so my roommate has a 90 si with a 90 b18a1 obd0, I pulled 2 of his wires for 2 and 3 and also his resistor box, and nothing, NOW his car is not firing on 2 or 3 and it would appear his resistor box is [freak]ed up now as well....

I am guessing at this point, I have no clue where to go from here (maybe my ecu is [freak]ed, I am currently trying to locate another one to confirm this..), I am digging through both the 93 da service manual as well as the crx workshop manual as I am typing this thread, if anybody has any clue whats going on here, I would love to hear from you, please don't guess, no offense, if you don't know, don't post, I'm not new to honda's nor swaps, this is seriously some of the weirdest **** I've came across so far and I am slipping beyond my threshold of sanity at the moment trying to find resolution..

Thanks alot.

I would do some serious back tracking as much as that sucks at the point you are at. make sure you don't have a funny plug or maybe you forgot to ground out all the cabin harness grounds. Did you use your old engine harness and fuse boxes as well? if you totally eliminated all of the ghetto hacking of the car with your good stuff (like i just recently did) then you should figure out the problem quicker.

as far as the Honda sickness spreading to your buddys car like that...beats the hell out of me.

no funny plugs, all cabin ground are in place, I am leaning towards ecu atm... injectors have almost 15 volts at them with key switched to on position.

injectors have a solid 12 volts all the way across the board with the key in the on position, tested resistor box and it is good (3 of them for that matter), tested 3 different obd0 ecu's on my roommates car and still the same thing, tested green plugs at resistor box to and from, all checked out fine, checked dash harness, still have spark on all 4 on both cars, injectors are still clicking on all 4 on both cars....

incorrect firing order, solid 96 hours straight nonstop outside under the sun working on it, my roommate must have switched 2 and 3 around and didn't relise because it was dark outside and had limited lighting, hence incorrect firing order on both vehicles, this was NOT a voltage issue, this would fall under thee ignorance/lack of sleep factor.

I usually abide by the rule of use the harness from the car and modify it to suit your needs, but that does not mean you cannot swap a whole harness from one car into another, as long as you take the time to insure that everything is hooked up properly and grounded and has continuuty all around (which is usually the problem when people swap harness from car to car), I would advise to check and eyeball both harnesses on the ground though before reinstallation as some harnesses do incorperate different accessories(AC, Sunroof, secondary fans, etc etc..., as well as inspecting each harness for any damage that may have occured inside the car due to the previous owner or damage occured during harness removal, this can happen sometimes no matter how gently you remove them, most of these harnesses are nearing 20 years old now you know..), I have not had any trouble what so ever in multiple cars leaving these accessories wires in place in the harness in stock position (I wrap them up with electrical tape and secure them to the harness, so later on, if I choose to add any of these accessories, I do not have to hack up my stock harness to re add these wires).
