Ya, doubt the V5 is going to make it. My uncle works at Honda Finance...I might ask him about this when I see him this weekend. Oh, and the sea-foam green mock-up on that site is FUGGGLY

Actually Honda submitted patents for the the two piece frame that they'll be using. One drawing had the typical V4, the other had the V5. So it is at least something they were looking at. Whether they'll actually do it is a different story but that might explain why it has taken the bike so long to come to market.

Dang, you guys are just swimmin in optimism! A nukka can dream can't he?
Although I don't really understand some of Honda's reasoning either. Like why they won't give us the same bikes they ship to Europe.

Well some of them are bikes that wouldn't do well here anyway like the Varadero but we don't get the 599 or the CB1000R and I think at least one of them would do well if the exchange rate didn't suck. Then they'll supposedly get the CB1100F and CB1100R but no news on whether they're coming here.

I just don't see how this could be cost effective for a bike in the sport touring category.

What's wrong with shaft drive? It's a sport touring bike.

after owning a few vfrs ive found that half the crowd wants a full sport touring bike and the other half wants a moto gp bike.

they need to make a sport tour and sport model. keep the sport tour model a couch, and make the sport model have usd's, 100lbs dropped asap, ugraded suspenion, ill be in line for one

Funny, its the same way with the FJR crowd. Seems like some of the people want all this bullshit to make it a mini 'wing. Others want to keep the weight down and add more power, while still keeping it LD friendly.
