JG engine ZC issue
ok. ive been trying to get a hold of JG Engine Dynamics for 2 weeks leaving emails and messages on their phone. i got an engine from JGE and it doesnt come with a crankshaft pulley or the crankshaft timing belt pulley. does anyone have any information on what pulley goes on thier performance crankshafts? i tried swapping over the pulley from my old ZC but its too big, so i tried to see if a crx dx pulley would work.. still too big.. does anyone know of a smaller pulley to use on a crankshaft? im stumped and JGE isnt responding. any help or leads would be greatly appriceated

Which ZC do you own? DOHC/SOHC/VTEC?
YOU MUST use a DOHC lower on those models because the upper gears are different. They must match or your valves will match your pistons.

u send off your DOHC ZC engine off to JGE and they rebuild it. i bought this motor from a guy in atlanta who had it in his crx. i saw his dyno sheet. it pushes 214whp N/A. but the guy didnt include some of the parts. only thing holding me back is this performance crankshaft that seems to be smaller in diameter than the stock crankshaft. and yes. this block is exactly like my JDM ZC engine. but the cranks are different. and yes. the clearance on the valves to the pistons are extreamly close. i will make sure i spin the crank a couple times before starting it
i just need to know is there another honda out there that uses a smaller diameter pully

Honda had 2 different crank snout sizes from factory. I would be willing to bet my lunch its a stock crank.
I know for a fact that the d15 and d16 timing belt drive pulleys do not work.
try http://www.thezcr.com maybe someone has a spare.

give me your lunch
its definitly not a stock crank. just to let u know. the crx i have is a right hand JDM crx si. therefore it is the ZC engine with all the goodies like a/c and p/s. when i was getting ready to swap some parts over, thats when i noticed the crankshaft difference. i know its not a stock crank cuz my stock pulleys wont fit on it.
with that said. the guy i bought it from cut me a hell of a deal. $2500. that includes the stage 5 clutchmaster with tranny, tuned ecu, halfshafts, the block and head was sent off to JGE to rebuild, guy had it pulled apart so we could see the part numbers and it was all accurate. even the block was painted gold like JGE does. all in all, i looked up everything that was done and it turns out to be around a 4-5k bill if u send in your zc engine. our guy left out the flywheel and the crank pulleys.. found the flywheel, but now cant find the pulleys
cant find any JGE issues thru that website.... grrrrrrr.. aggervating

DOHC ZC engines, just like D16A6 engines, came with 2 different diameter front snouts - 88s and some 89s had a 22mm diameter snout and the rest had a 24mm diameter snout - sounds like you have a 22mm crank and timing belt gear and pulley for 24mm - you need the 22mm diameter parts - good luck on finding a 22mm diameter DOHC ZC timing belt gear - ZC with 17 teeth is the only one that will work

Correct
The only other option would be to switch to D16A1 Upper and Lower gears, this would require buying many more parts including all new timing covers if I am correct.

</TD></TR></TABLE>you will have to get one specifically for a JDM DOHC ZC - nothing else will work - no other D-series engine used a crankshaft timing gear with 17 teeth - B,F and H-series gears have 17 teeth but they won't fit the d-series crank - try asking on thezcr.com - maybe someone there has one
