totaled integra need advice
I have an automatic integra with about $4,000 worth of damage maybe 3,500. Is my best bet to pay to have it fixed and get a manual tranny put it in or just buy a different car, my budget is 8 grand

Good luck finding a Type R for 8 grand buddy lol....
IMO, its not worth to fix the car, especially since its probably over half the value of the car to fix it. Invest in getting a newer model, with better resale value, and just in case they steal it, you can get some good hefty amount from your insurance...
If you have 8 grand, and you really really wanna fix your LS, then fix it, and with the remainder of the money, beef up the suspension, get some good wheels, and do a RELIABLE LS/vtec swap.
Some people ask me why i spent so much on my 2000 gsr, and i tell them all the time, they have to look at the future and not just now. If they were to steal my 2000 gsr, i would get a $10,000 check from my insurance. If they were to steal a 94 LS with a GSR motor swap, then you would just get like $2000....
See where im going with this....get something newer, better, and with better resale value.

Take the insurance money, buy the car from the insurance co. (couple hundred bucks) as a salvage. Part out car, you could get good money for the motor, not so much for the trans, but you could get something. The rear trailing arms/brake assemblies are worth a few hundred, as well as the front knuckes and brake assemblies. The seats are worth a couple hundred, then when its all parted out, get a salvage company to come with a flatbed and take it for another hundred or two. You should easily be able to make another grand this way.
If a buyback from the insurance company is an option, I'd definitely go that route an then, depending upon how much motivation you have, I'd try to find a rolling chassis that was originally equipped with a manual and go from there. Otherwise I'd try to find a clean, well kept car that is either stock, or slightly modded with stuff that you would have probably ended up doing anyway.
