Default Paving @ Summit Point

Does anybody know if the paving that was scheduled for this past Monday and Tuesday actually happened?

I have a few guys from work at Summit today for a Motorcycle track day. They are practicing for this weekends National WERA bike race.

If things are not fixed on the maim track, I know of alot of people who are going to be unhappy this weekend. That came from a far way away.

George, you know anything about a longer term solution? Seems like they've done more harm than good overall with the shenanigans.

The track has had no improvements other then more patching which still will break up. The re paving of turns with the compound from Martinsburg has not taken place.

Bill Scott is having trouble finding anyone to give up a few days to take care of the problem. They have events 363 days of of the year on the scedule.

If I were Bill, I think I would consider cancelling a couple of two-percenter contracts for a week, under force majeure and fix things the right way.

As it is, we're pissing off thousands instead of scores.

I have some friends going to the WERA race today. I don't believe anything has happened yet. I will ask. Apparently the WERA folks are more than a little irritated. (among others obviously...)

But I'll bet you that WERA, just like NASA, SCCA, BMW Club, Porsche Club and others, is not wiling to give up its dates in order to fix the surface.

If somebody doesn't give in, it'll never get done.

Thunderbolt and Lightning are looking pretty good... Maybe the time will come when people decide that summit is too dangerous, No new dates are booked and Bill will then have plenty of time to repave.

Who am I kidding, if the "black hole" stays in turn three, Ill still fork over my money to go. Summit really has some fun turns still, and is really only an hour away. Can't beat that.

If nothing else, it makes you practice your adaptability and it reminds us, "Line? What line!? The line is what gets me past the other car!"

I don't know if it's the bad pavement or my driving style, but just so you know....

I seem to have experienced some unusual, dynamic suspension alignment changes the last time I was out there.

I've never had that happen before.

Of course, I'm a moron and kept driving. I could manage it. But discovered later that I had corded a tyre by continuing to drive at full speed and just managing the situation.

It's a shame, too, because the set of tyres was at the stickiest. :-( Now I've got to move to RA-1 with tread on them.

Dash it all.
