Best Coilover Setup for a Street CRX?
I am using Omnipower coilovers right now, and they ride nicely, but do not go very low without having to adjust the preload. Now, if I do that, the preload becomes loose and then my ride quality goes out the window. That's no good
I am looking for a set of coilovers that are ideal for street use, with the odd track day or two. I want to be able to adjust my ride height through the strut as much as possible (2-3-* inches?), so I don't have to mess with the preload.
Is there something I can play with on the Omni's or is there a better coilover choice out there? What would you guys consider the best choice for my application?
Thanks in advance

Just wanted to add that the car is powered by a B16A and Y1 trans. with factory LSD. Gonna build it up all motor, but nothing too crazy. Bolt ons, valve train, clutch/flywheel, tuning etc.

I searched the suspension forums for crx in either recent or archived, I found nothing that helps...
I will browse through there again, but I would like input from other EF'ers

Its hard to search for anything about "crx" cause its too short for the search engine lol....
I personally use S2 sleeves w tokico illumina dampers, but the springs are far from stiff enough for my liking.
Their off the shelf rates are too soft.
But I love the illuminas.
I have no personal experience with one peice coilovers.....other than all the chinese **** is just that..........****.

No CRX works, only 2 letters like EF don't work. CRX brings up like 2 topics, which don't help.
Basically I like my Omni's. They're 10k/8k, and ride really nice, not too stiff for street either IMO. I just want to have a lowe ride height. The struts are spun all the way down, and the preload has no play/movement when the car is jacked up. Should the preload be snug, or as long as there is no movement, will it be fine?
Are there any setups or brands that are best for street performance with good lowering adjustability?

i have d2 and it definatly an amazing ride and you dont have to touch the preload to adjust the ride height. I love them and recomend them to anyone. And they will do just fine with your b16 fyi.
I have Eibach Pro Street coil-overs on my EE, and I love them. The ride quality is unmatched, but I must admit they might be a touch soft for a track day, which I'll never see in this DD car of mine:

The fronts are a linear sprin with a helper - they never go loose on really uneven driveways, etc. - the helper keeps it in check:

The EG rides on Koni Yellows and custom Eibach ERS coil-over springs, but it's buckboard stiff and has no preload so the rear springs definately pop on uneven approaches
IMO the Eibachs are the best street coil-over set-up I've owned along with Neuspeed/Bilstein full coil-overs.

I'm thinking of picking up some Tein basic coilovers but i need to do alot of stuff before i can afford them. Maybe if i quit my job I'll buy them. the best price i've found was from prostreet and it was $759.00

I gotta agree with him on the PIC's... i have the Selects (10K F - 14K R) and couldnt be happier
I would deffinitly recomend a softer spring rate for a street car though

14K is really aggressive for the street. I would just get the D2s. And how does preload become loose? Are you saying that you're reducing shock travel when you lower the car?
