Default Valvetrain question..

#12 14762-P30-004

#11 14751-P72-003

So question. For the exhaust valve springs, can I use the si outer spring (#12 first pic) with the ITR inner spring (#11 second pic) or do you have to use the ITR outer spring as well? Since the retainers are the same part #, I would assume so but just wanted to check first.

Thanks!

Im almost sure he reffering to the b16 as the pics look like a DOHC engine.

Yes, what he said.

I'm just trying to figure out if B16A2 exhaust outer valve springs can be used with ITR B18C5 exhaust inner valve springs OR if the ITR exhaust outer valve springs need to be purchased as well.

Dont see why you couldnt. Only difference between exhaust and intake springs is the load pressure (or spring back pressure, or whatever they call it). If you look at aftermarket sets they are all the same with inner and outer springs.

Right, but maybe then at this point it would defeat the purpose of pulling apart the valvetrain just for an inner spring? Because if the ITR had a higher load pressure on the outer spring, the Si outer spring wouldn't be as reliable, thus defeating the purpose of adding the inner spring.

See what I'm saying? I mean if you just added the inner spring and left the si outer, would you rev to 8.6-9k?
