Default Suggestions

I have a fairly stock 2000 civic si. As far as power goes i have 3" exhaust and a cai. theres more to the car than that but as far engine goes thats it.

My plans were possibly: headers, pulse plugs, intake manifold mabye.

Basically I want more power for cheap; of course. So please guys can you give some suggestions and whether my ideas are any good. Be as detailed as possible. If you say headers tell what type, 4-1 or 4-2-1, and everything. Leave turbo and supercharger out of it those are obvious.

<--Believe me, bolt-ons (I/H/E) aren't going to give you much power.

I suggest saving up for an NA build or...a turbo kit

yes i want a NA build but not necessarily internals. those will come later. i mean quick power, im not trying to be a track king or anything.

all i want is more power than i have now and what would be the cheapest quickest way to that.

headers, exhaust, air intake, chipped ecu, short shifter, strut bars, will not give much power but will help some.

Since nobody said it yet.......Why not a small nitrous system? That's the most inexpensive horsepower money can by. Do a 50 shot and that will be all you need for now

strut bars give you power? Youre not going to get much on your car with bolt ons. Also idk how you can do an NA build with no internals. The best value for power is turbo. Or engine swap. Youre wasting money trying to make power with bolt ons. At most you might get like 20-30 hp thats fully tuned all bolt ons etc. Not worth it. For like 2-3,000 you can turbo it and have at least 60hp gain.

ok but wouldn't a new throttle body/intake mani/ headers make decents gains. and then after air then go fuel with injectors/rail?

as you can see im new to this, just looking for ideas on where to start. because if i go turbo it would take me forever to get there.this is under a student budget going to college.

as internal go, whats 1st? cams?

appreciate the help so far!

if i wer u i would get a nice 4 to 1 header and then get your ecu chipped for the things that you have and it willl wake your motor up alot.also if u could get a nice stage one or two clutch and a 7.5lb flywheel the acceleration difference will suprise you.

Do you have any type of suspension upgrades? I would work that way before making a monster engine.

yes i do, i have full suspension, strut bar and tie bar combo.

ok 86crxin. what chip. If theres anything that confuses me is chips.

who can i buy a chip from, how much? if i buy the chip can i get one pre-tuned if not who can tune it? when someone tunes it will my car lose a drastic amount of gas mileage?

when i get it chip, will it have the rev limiter?
