Default Touch Up Paint For Left Passenger Door

Hi there I drive a 2006 Cr-v Lx. I recently banged up my left passenger door while backing out of a driveway. It was open and it got caught on the wall so I took it to the shop to fix it. They bent most of the metal back together and it works fine now. The problem is, that there is a line of chipped and scratched paint running down the door about 3 inches long and 1 inch wide. The paint is not totally chipped off, its sort of in pieces. I was wondering what i could do. I've looked up touch up paint, but i was wondering if i need to remove it and prime it, then paint it, and clear coat it, or if i can just apply the touch up paint. Any suggestions will be of great value.

Looks like they've already applied touch up paint to it so that it won't rust. Unfortunately, this is as good as its going to get unless you do bodywork and paint the whole door.

Is there anything i can do to make it less noticeable. I dont even think its the same coat of paint... If i actually got the Alabaster Silver, would it make a difference or am i doomed with an ugly left passenger door?

Well the only option you have is to remove their touch up paint and re-apply your own. It should be fresh so use some thinner to remove what they've applied. When you apply your own stuff keep it 'between the lines' if you know what I mean. That should help but it would take a surgeon's hands and an artisitc talent with a brush to get it much better than what they've done.

That's fugly.

I wouldn't tolerate that on an 06. Bring it some place to get done, or give it a shot yourself. Sand, primer, body filler, paint, sand, paint, sand, paint, clear, maybe sand, clear.
