nippon vs. OEM questions,...
for my type s build I really want OEM piston rings, however... the local honda store quoted me 95 dollars (CAN) per ring set!, on some of the popular online OEM retailers, i've seen them for 35 per ringset then I came across this on ebay:

then with my search I discovered this from vinereuro (sorry spelling?)
<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote »</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Nippon is a HUGE company and one of their buisnesses is oem parts supplier, Honda being one of their customers. Nippon most likely was the oe piston supplier for the H motor. </TD></TR></TABLE>
so essentially what i'm asking is this basically what you get when you buy a OEM ringset? a box marked nippon? because at 30 bucks for the complete set, it sure beats 400 dollars to do my 4 cylinders!

Pistons and rings are not parts to cheap out on. Here are some very reasonable prices.

I agree, that's why I want OEM, I was just trying to clarify whether or not nippon makes them for honda or not... but you guys have hooked me up with some more sources/idea's so I should be able to go forward from here, thanks. I don't think that hondaautmotivepart place ships to canada though (if I remember correctly) i'll have to check again.
cheers.
