White Smoke is a Mod
mod? meaning modification?we put some dc headers and when we turned it on we used no intake and the valve cover breather was not on at the time.im afraid its leaking water from the headgasket into the cylinder. I think it might be between the space from cylinder one to the timing chain chamber.

Don't confuse the guy! lol
Usually white or very light bluish smoke is from water getting in the cylinders as you suspected. Take off your oil cap and see if it looks kinda milky in there. Is your water level dropping? Did you properly tq the head bolts in the sequence the FSM recommend. Did you remove them in the proper sequence per the FSM? Did you use any copper spray?

the head was good everything was inspected at a local machine shop.now that i remember the head gasket was bent a little. some tools fell on it. what are the torque specs on a head for an 02 s2k?someone said 21 then 90 but im not sure.

No, not true. Blue smoke is from oil burning, white is from coolant, black is from fuel.
But the part about checking you overflow for oil was correct.

hope this helps amigo...
how the **** do you do a head gasket and not know the proper torque numbers
1st Step in Sequence = 29 Nm
2nd Step = 90°
3rd Step = 90°
If Using New Head Bolts Tighten An Additional = 90°
Tighten the two 8mm Bolts (A) 22 Nm

It is true... Dark blue/gray smoke is oil... But very light blue smoke is usually water bro. You have to relize you can have a bit of oil in that burning mixture as well. Trust me I know what I am talking about here.
I like how you cut out the first part of my sentence as well

well don't mess with s2k's or h22's as much but i did torque the head bolts 20-90-90. i was off in the first step but other than that it was good.i let the car run for 5 mins and then removed the spark plugs. Cylinder number 2 was smoking in a bit but all the cylinders were good.I'm sure its leaking from the gasket. I checked all the cylinders and they are all good and also have a good compression of 220-240-235-240. thanks for being helpful.I will be re-installing a new head gasket tomorrow.
I think you are worried about nothing. If the car sat for a long time, condensation will build up in the exhaust and cause white smoke. Drive it for a couple of days while monitoring the temp gage and water level. If you had a bad head gasket you would either have milky oil or you would always be adding water.

did u use the old head gasket one, or did u bend the new one. sounds like thats your problem.

This guy was right.I just let it sit for about an hour with the motor running and the smoke cleared and the car ran perfect. This car has been a real learning experience for me. I'm happy the car turned out ok. thanks for all your advise except for some of you who thought I didn't what i was doing.I work with all kinds of d b series.but f20 and k's are what i'm trying to learn now. I didn't use the helms the book is $150 and it takes 2 weeks to arrive.

You can get a helms manual for $75 brand new, and around $40 off S2KI. just an fyi

does this mean that when thinking out the spark plug oil is on ur spark plug??? want to know if that is the cause of a bad head gasket... and as when i open my cap it smell like gas inside the motor... is it to muck fuel running to much
