Default New Here, Few Questions About My EK

Hi all. I have a few questions and a friend told me this site has some members who know their ****, so I'm hoping you can all help me. I'm trying to get my 96 Civic CX going (doing up the interior/exterior right now, eventually wanna drop a b18C Type R in, but that's after I save up a ton of cash lol) and I was hoping for some advice on which brands/parts I should get.

1. I want to lower the car. Right now I have 17' Kozzo's on my ride, I plan on ordering Type R front and back lips. What's a good (doesn't have to be top of the line) set of coilovers that will stiffen up my ride a little, and that are relizable. Right now I'm looking at Skunk2, but if I could get something cheaper that will still do they're job, I'm all for it.

2. I want to put on the back Type R lip as well as the front, but my Magnaflow muffler is already as close as possible to my bumper. Will I have to do serious work to the exhaust to install the lip?

3.Evenutally I want to put power windows in the car (just bought the power locks/keyless, still have to install it). Is there somewhere I can go that I could get cheap door panels w/ the switches on them?

And finally:

4. I'm undecided on wether I want to buy projector headlights, or headlights that look like stock, except they have the darker/black housing, with the small amber signals on the sides. I want to put HIDs in eventually, but I want the wuality HIDs (not the plug n play ones that splash light everywhere, I want the ones that have the clean looking beam right in front). Any suggestions on any of these?

Thanks all.

1) whats your price range?
2)you may need to get new exhaust hangers to make it hang a little lower
3)a junkyard or when your trial expires, check the h-t marketplace

Skunk2 and Ground Control are the two companies that first offered Sleeve type Coilovers... you cant go wrong with either. Quality and price are sometimes on two opposite ends, rarely do you find both in one product, unless you buy used.

We sell a ton of the Skunk2.

I have an EK and I too have/had the Type R front and rear lips... The front presents no problems but the rear will require you to re-position the exhaust. I managed to get the lip on without doing so but later found that the lip melted on the tip.

Best thing to do would be to make a post here on Honda-tech in the associated classified section.

I dislike greatly aftermarket headlights and/or tail lights so I cant help you there... I like the clean OEM look w/ a good set of HID's. I have Type R headlights.

I'm looking to spend under $400 on the coilovers.

I agree with you, I don't like the ricey head/tail lights. I like the type R headlights (I was thinking the same style but darker housing) and I want the tailights with the clear reflector through instead of the amber like the OEMs.
