i have a 2008 whtie FG2 and i was thinking maybe three years from now i might wanna look into a LEGIT paint job. i was wondering if body shops pull motors and paint engine bays as well? if so what would would be the price in terms of ball park price ranges. exterior, jams, pull motor and paint bay

To have a paint shop pull your motor = lol price range.


Cheaper to have a shop do it, then trailer it to the paint shop... I would imagine.

 

$1500-$2000 for basic color change and probably close to Another $1000 for pulling out the engine and painting. Some shops just start taping everything in the engine bay and remove just the motor mounts, battery, wires, etc then just spray. Some shops can pull if off real good and some shops can't. Look at the type of cars and experience of the shop you choose. Goodluck!

x2. NO bodywork included in that price range. Keep that in mind.

 

at our shop color changes start at 3k for 2 dr cars. door jambs, trunk or hatch..that does however include basic bodywork, dents dings and scratches. No rust repair or panel replacements. the engine bay is another 500 on top just to paint. no engine pulling. for a shop to pull the engine, do a full color change your looking at near 6k or more, but it all varys on your location and quality of work that the shop does. were on the higher end of the spectrum cause our work is quality.
