Help! car idling waaayy too high
Ok so i have spend countless hours reading upon the fast idling problem on here, and still haven't been able to figure it out.
i have a 94 accord lx 5sp. f22b2 engine.
well the car idles high on really hot days when i drive it around for at least half an hour.it will start idling around 1500-2500 once it heats up
i tried cleaning the FITV, and the IAVC, checked for vacuum leaks and there were none. i cant figure out what it wrong, would the rad fan not working have anything to do with my high idle? i ask this is because when im driving on the highway, the car runs fine im guessing because its getting more air flow through the engine to cool it off. but im stumped here. if anyone could help me out that would be greatly appreciated.

You could try:
-Replacing your 02
-Doing a full collant flush. Are you low on coolant?
-Change your oil. If your vehicle runs to hot, than it will break down the oil too fast and cause the car to run hot.
**I would try just the full coolant flush and an oil change. See how that works out. G/L!

Your Throttle body is sucking is too much air or the intake manifold could have a leak, on the throttle body, take a flat screw and try to turn the air screw clockwise and counterclock wise to see if the indle goes down below 1000 rpm after the engine has been running for a while. THe air screw is on the side but near the top of the throttle body.

try looking at the tps (throttle position sensor)
or your throttle cable</TD></TR></TABLE>
It doesn't necesserally have to be throwing code to be a bad 02. The 02 could be on the virge of going bad, you just haven't thrown the code yet.

I believe if it was the thermo the gauge would consatantly be reading high. However--it is possible
