Default SHIFTER WON'T MOVE- HELP

I have a 94 Honda Accord LX. I haven't been able to drive it in 3 months
b/c no one has time to fix it and it won't budge so I can't take it to the shop
other then towing it. So here's the problem if anyone can help...

Two days right b.f i ruined it more, shifting the car out of park was somewhat
difficult. The day i ruined was when i pulled it out of park to reverse away. No
matter how hard i tried to shift it out of park it would not budge. I tried putting
a key into the "release" hole but that didn't release it as well. After me and a
friend yanked it after 15 mins of continuosly pulling the gear out of park, it
worked & was simply fine shifting from reverse to drive. However when parking
it wouldn't park, instead it reversed. I had to pull up my emergency break to park
it. SO i know i messed up something. My question is WHY IS THIS HAPPENING!

Still i haven't been able to get it out of park, to at least put it in nuetral
so i can tow it myself somewhere!

turn the engine on a listen to tranny see if it grind. Sounds like a tranny problem. the shifter has only one cable that connect to the tranny, the release key is just a little device under the consul that prevent the shifter from moving, Normall, Auto tranny doesn't grind as much as manual so if it is that difficult to shift, check fluid. Otherwise, Need new tranny

Well you probably broke it by having a friend "yanking" on it for 15 minutes.

So verify that the brake is pressed, the brake light switch - right above the brake pedal - is working push the key into the shift lock release and move to neutral (while the car is off) then start the car in neutral and move it to Drive.
