why was I not able to crack 13s? (time slip inside)
went to the track last week and was not able to get a 13 second pass. i was on 195/50/15 yokohama es100s. i did two run with these and thought i did the best i could so i switched to some tires that were too tall for me, 205/55/16 toyo ra-1s. i was crossing the line at the top of 3rd gear. ended hitting 14.3 three times with those tires. the setup: 184 whp, 130 wtq gsr motor with type r internals, bolt ons, gsr tranny and tuned in an eg hatchback.
did a best of 14.1 @ 98.840
highest trap of the day was 99.343
60': 2.266
I2: 6.068
I3: 9.174
MPH(I3): 78.921
I4: 11.826
ET: 14.101
MPH: 98.840
i would think that i should be in the 13s because i hear about ppl with my power hitting 13.6-13.8 on street tires all day. and i thought my 60 was decent. and i know my shifting isn't the fastest in the world but i'm no grandma. i also was not getting much wheel spin, only off the launch and a little in first.

Lot of it is weight. Power to weight ratio is an important number. And how bad the air was. 184hp don't mean much unless you know your weight.
As an example, my 89, with me in it is 2100#. B16 with add-ons, perhaps 160hp at the wheels. Power to weight 13.125:1. Likely you're around 2300 pounds? Be fun to know.

youve got the trap for the 13 sec pass...getting it to hook off the line and into 2nd is the key!

i just thought 2.2 was decent for street tires. but yea i'm not gonna return to the track until i get some slicks or drag radials. honestly, i want a 12.9 pass on slicks but i don't think its gonna be possible.

My car is a 1992 CX, I converted to power windows and locks.
I removed AC but still have the evaporator under the dash. I removed my rear seats, and all the SRS wiring. Thats It!
2155 with me in it, and I weigh anywhere from 150-160.
Whats your limiter? My shift lights at 8400, limiter at 8600.

yea good build so far, i'm kinda looking for some itr internals myself. i have a 96 b18c with basic bolt ons in an 99 integra. if i was running low 14's with this i would be happy since its my daily driver. but if you wanna hit 13's do some internal work like valve job, pistons and stuff. yea you'll prob hit 13's with slicks but what a waste cuz you know for sure your gonna hit 13's so why waste your time and you're not gonna use slicks on the streets. you could use that money to build your motor. for me personally i wouldnt want to use slicks unless my car is all-out drag. thats where you want to know your full potential.
I used to run consistent 13.8 to 13.9 with my old H22 EG hatch. I always lowered the tire pressure to around 20 - 25psi, and would cut 2.0 sixty foot times. That is on crappy mis-matched street tires too!
For the longest time i was stuck in the mid 14's with that same setup. The more i went to the track, the better i got. And i must say that it is much more satisfying to get you time on street tires.

I always wanted to hit 13's in my old setup but never went back after some of the mods. Look at my sig. I never even realized I had a potential 13 sec car at the time. lol I always thought I could hit 13's but never made it back before I sold the nitrous kit. :::kicks himself in the ***:::
