Default check out this HID kit and give me your input.

http://www.starrotors.com/bulbs/

thinking of trying it in my car, couple friends have them in thier cars with no problems... ballast are TINY compared to what I have seen and they are cheap.

cheap kits suck most people on here seem to say but I seen zero problems with these on other cars.

anyone seen these before?

It will be crap.

It's not just the quality of the kit (in many cases this is a problem, though), but it's the fact that HID bulbs inside halogen housings are complete *** compared to using an actual HID projector.

My Philips ballasts have been working great for nearly 6 years. I can almost guarantee that a $120 kit's ballasts won't last anywhere near that long.

hrm well I ordered a set and they arrived in a day, I spend almost 70 bucks last time on bulbs alone for halogens so I thought why not try these.

DAMN they are bright, almost too bright. people seem annoyed by them when I am behind them. they look ok though and seem to be working ok. but your right they probably will end up shitting the bed after a while and then I will throw them away. cool though, something different for now.

the ballast are like a couple credit card stacked in size... so at least I dont have bulky hardware all over the bay or anything. this is the only real cheap mod I have done thus far for appearance besides maybe the light tint on the windows... we shall see how long they last before I change them or they burn out.

That's called glare, which is shining all over the place and blinding everybody, because halogen housings aren't designed for HID's. FAWK I hate plug n play HID kits and the cars that have them!!!!!!!!

Whenever I see a car blinding my @$$ with them I want to get behind them and flick on my bi-xenon highs + stock high beams.

I've had more blinding moments from MIS-AIMED OE HID than I've ever had with pnp hid kits.

Just like I don't go to the illegal drag races either... doesn't mean my point isn't valid.

well I had a friends get in from of me and see if it is glare or just distracting color... he drove in front of me for about 20 minutes on the way to get some dinner.

he said it is mostly a distraction cause the 30k color being not common, not glare really... in fact he said they are not as bad as any truck (no matter what lights), lexus hids, merc hids, etc... or even higher wattage halogens people put in low beams.

I checked the focus of them and they are maybe 15ft out on the ground in front of me, I am sure you can get almost any light at just the right angle or spot to see the bulbs reflection (ie which makes a bright spot/ glare) but I dont notice it being worse than any other bulb. if it is brought to my attention though, I will change them. I dont want to add to the already unsafe driver conditions on the roads.

they are a very dark purple, light output is decent and more than ample for my needs... i am not trying to illuminate this side of the globe with them. seriously i honestly could give a rats dick what the package said or says. yes they marked them 30000k but as you indicate thats not a true accurate number. i bought them based on seeing them ON a car, not from the intranetz advertisement saying OMG 30000k. I figured all you lighting pros just went by the claimed rating. apparently not...

I like them, they work, they look ok. 120 bucks is not hurting me and I dont care to become more educated on something so trivial. in retrospect I dont know why I wasted this much time to type this. It has become obvious I should and will return to other areas here. nothing productive is being done here.

carry on.
