H22A FUEL PRESSURE AND IDLE CONCERN
I put a H22A 92-95 in my 1996 accord. I installed a skunk2 pro series intake manifold and 68mm throttle body, also I installed a AEM fuel rail, which i put a fuel pressure guage on. the problem is that when i start the car it idles low between 600-400 and shakes and wants to die, sometimes accomplishing that and needing a restart. if i turn on the air conditioner it really makes it drop and shake. I looked at the fuel pressure guage and it is reading 20-24psi at idle ? is that normal? i thought fuel psi should be like at 37- 41 psi. is this due to a stock accord fuel pump and the larger injectors on the h22? and could this be why the car idles low?
Take the vacuum line off the FPR and see if that increases your Fuel PSI (you said you had a guage) I know my FPR PSI is around 42 on vacuum and 45ish no vacuum. You may have gotten a bad FPR.
The fuel pump should be more then enough for a stock engine. But I would test to make sure the voltage is correct on the pump to rule it out.
Are you using a h22 ECU?
Correct me if I am wrong but does modifying your Fuel system require any kind of tuning? I know with injectors it does (most of the time).
