For those who are curious: CR ride height vs. Eibach ... plus CR racing impression

A friend took this random picture and I thought it was interesting to see the difference in ride height.
My car is on eibach pro-kits, with camber F1.5'/R2.5', tires are Falkens.
the CR is on stock rubber and stock alignment.
I'm told the CR actually sits HIGHER in the front than a non-CR AP2.
and back to back comparisons between the two cars. I have a 2004, mods are:
- seibon hardtop w/ removed softtop
- eibach pro-kit springs
- uk alignment with above mentioned camber
- driver skill
the CR is stock (sans painted wheels), down to the alignment.
In the morning, I drove my car and my friend drove his CR. Then we switched for the afternoon runs back and forth. Driving them back-to-back at an autocross... I was able to get my car around the course 2 seconds quicker. The CR would engage ABS FAR quicker than mine would, but the steering felt so much more crisp. The shorter steering ratio was definitely noticable and pretty helpful on some of the tight switchbacks and turn arounds.
The CR also pushed quite a bit on the stock alignment. A more aggressive alignment would have easily shaved a solid second off the time, while the tires, although grippy, for some reason got the ABS to kick in prematurely.
and to rub in the faces of AP2 haters, my BSP AP2 (remember, only on springs) on street tires was faster than a well-driven BS AP1 on victoracers.

you can add "random joe blow driver comparions" to that list now as well

ROFLMAO!
The OP must have been doing some serious late braking to activate ABS during an auto-x run. Either that or they need to practice threshold braking. Did this course have long straights or something?

I think the ABS was due to the full tread tires squirming.
ITRbroham: I don't know about you, but if I don't induce ABS on an autocross run, I'm probably leaving some braking on the table. When appropriate, I don't see why you wouldn't want to engage ABS.
Driven: Why was the AP1 in BS (B-Stock)? The comparison to an AP1 is meaningless without the same driver at the wheel, imho.

i'd agree if they were full tread though. Tires were at like 60%.

actually, I am neither pro/con AP1/AP2... It was more of a poke-fun at the people who think AP1 > AP2 or even vice-versa. they perform equally well...
Don't know why the AP1 was in BS... I just remember seeing BS on the guy's timecard. mind you, this was at a Flagstaff, AZ event (small region) ... and maybe he was running in BS to run against others... and no one cares?
The car in the background is a 400hp vette, built for some W2W class. Car was being sorted out...

I've only auto-xed my S2k once but I can't remember inducing ABS. I usually do track days on circuits. I can only remember once instance where I induced the ABS while braking and that was because I was using a high-perf. brake pad with street tires. The tires squirmed alot and it slowed me down considerably until I got the feel and began threshold braking.

Braking right before the point of lockup.

umm..corvairs are AIR cooled!! YOU'RE STUPID!! THE RADIATOR IS IN THE HOOD!! F YOU!!!
what's going on?
OP: AutoX sucks anyway. I guess it's kinda fun...but..meh. HPDE events are the coolest (but conditioner is better because it makes the hair soft and smooth).
I was just in Las Vegas. It was 100 degees as I stepped out of the airplane at 10PM. That was awesome.
I think the CR is rad. It'd be the only AP2 I'd consider.

That's so witty! You're asking about a radiator for a car that is air-cooled!! COMEDY GOLD! I can't wait for your next wonderfully thought-out remark. I'm sure it'll match (and possibly exceed) your high-level quality of humor.

and i am waiting for your next indepth performance comparison. we have all benefited from your wonderful expertise and precision in this well thoughtout analysis. you should write for super street. i personally would subscribe just to make sure any investment i made in any modification is well warranted.
