Avid traction bar
So, there's something wrong with my stock traction bar. Either the bushing is [freak]ed(I tried two from my CRX's) or the member got pushed back. The bolts look like they're going in crooked so I'm guessing the member got pushed back. It's never been in an accident though. When the crossmember is installed, the bar pushes the LCA back about 2"...it's noticeable just by looking at the wheels or looking at the sway bar link.
Anyways, I'm debating between getting a Innovate bar or a Avid racing one. The Avid Racing one looks similar to the Full Race one and mounts to the tow-hook bolts. In the thread for the Innovate bar, a lot of people brought up issues about the "design flaw". On the other hand, I haven't heard anything about the Avid bar. How's the ground clearance? Also, are the front joints at the crossmember spaced the same as the FLCA pivot points? Also, is there two versions of this bar? I've seen them with a fat bar with round arms and what looks to be a skinner crossmember bar with hexagon arms.

Check this thread out and look at the people that actually own the Innovative Bar. There is no design flaw in that product. They put a heim on 1 side and if they wanted to they could have put it on the otherside, but instead the did alot of extra machining to make the product the right way. Talk to anyone that has a fixed rear traction bar and they will agree that its the right way to go. Talk to someone who wants the fastest or easiest bar to adjust and they will push you towards a 4 heim setup.

hey man i know this has nothing to do with traction bars but i wanted to know if you play cod4 and your name is K2e2vin on there cuz i have played with someone with that name
I've played COD4 but never online(if I did play online, it would've probably been someone else's account/name). I've been using "K2e2vin" since like 2003 though for forums and such. On video games, I use "K-Bonics" or "BB Wheat"
That's what I was thinking about the Innovate bar. As long as the heim was in the correct spot; there wouldn't be any binding issues and what not. I guess I'll go ahead and get the Avid bar since at the moment I can get a slightly better deal on it and from what I've been told, the Innovate bar is on backorder or I'd have to order directly from them(in which the price is still not bad)

I wouldn't get the avid bar. Ground clearance was a bitch with them and they didn't seem very secure. I would damn near knock my car out of alignment weekly because they were so low to the ground.
pic of the ground clearance

They hung about an inch lower than my pwjdm lip (which was about 2in thick)

Would or wouldn't? Is that the older Avid bar?
I just ordered the Avid bar earlier this morning then found out I could've got the Innovative one cheaper

Sorry about that.
I wouldn't. I don't know what generation it was, but it was horrible for DD'n. Now I'm rocking the ETD traction bars and I haven't had any problems out of them (but I only had them on for about two weeks).

Thanks for that info. I had just put in my order early this morning for the Avid bar(before I read your post). If it doesn't work out, I'll probably try to send it back or sell it and get a Innovative bar.
Hey, guys... That pic is our old traction bar which worked great, but the clearence as you can see wasn't the best. Our new is out and it's a 4 point system. Should be at your nearest Avid dealer.
BigDare23 if you are not happy with that bar. Give me a shout on our toll free, I'll see what I can do for you

Thanks guys! Just got my bar today. The quality seems ok; a little nick on the turnbuckle/bar but very minor.
Overall, it looks very good and the height looks like it's the same as the stock crossmember. I haven't installed it yet(probably won't until Sunday), but I'll keep you guys updated.
